Twins 1st Trip to Rapid River!

Last Thursday Steve and I made the 3 hour trip to Rapid River with our boys...dogs included. Everybody traveled really well and the only time the twins showed they were ready to get out of their car seats was when we had to stop for construction. Thankfully the stops weren't that long and we were able to get moving again fairly quickly. On Friday I had to attend a workshop at the ISD in Escanaba so Grandma Alice and Daddy were in charge. The twins were up a lot that night and as much as I would have liked to stay in bed and sleep I went to the workshop anyway. Since I don't always know when I'm going to get out of the house I try to make the most of every opportunity I get.

Here are some pictures of the twins meeting some of their relatives for the 1st time. I'm not as good at taking pictures of all of their "firsts" as I was with Landen. For example, I don't have a picture of them with Linzy, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Sandy, Jake, etc.

I went to check on the boys sleeping and this is how I found Brody. When he moved his arms he managed to flip up the flap from his receiving blanket on his head. So cute!
Landen kissing Brayden. He loves to kiss his brothers and can't just kiss them once. He has to kiss them on both sides of their head.
Brayden smiles and talks all the time and Brody is starting to. I've been trying to get a picture of Brayden smiling and these are the best that I have done so far. I have yet to get a picture of Brody smiling, but I will.

Uncle Gerry & Auntie Patti took Landen open skating one afternoon. He was pretty shaky at the start, but Patti said by the time they left he could walk on his skates without any help. This is good because Landen is going to start hockey this winter. Since Steve can't skate I'm glad Landen's first time on the ice was a positive one. PJ & Logan also went skating and here is a picture of all 3 of them taking a break. The pictures aren't that good, but considering who the photgrapher was I'm just glad I got some pictures.

Here are some videos as well.

My mom and I took all the kids to Hancock yesterday. The twins had their 1-month appointment and Linzy came to entertain Landen. She took him for rides in the elevator and also taught him his right and left hand. We like when Linzy teaches him positive things because there has been times when Daddy has said, "I think it's time for Linzy to go home" :)! Landen loves her and Linzy loves him! As we left the doctor's office I told my mom, "Thank God for Linzy!"

Anyway, their 1-month stats are as follows:

~ Brody~Height - 21 inches, Weight - 10 lbs, Head 37 cm

~Brayden~Height - 22 inches, Weight 11 lbs 12 ozs, Head 38 cm

Brody gained 2 1/2 lbs since our last visit and Brayden gained 3 lbs. We know that Brayden is bigger but seeing them lie next to each other with just a diaper on you can really see the difference. Needless to say Brayden is our little moose :)

Finally!! What have you been doing that you can't update this thing on a regular basis? :o) And by the way, you try and stand on the ice and take pictures and videos! It isn't as easy as one might think. See ya on Wednesday.
